This training is targeted to those wanting to maintain/increase muscle and strength. STRENGTH TRAINING is integral in maintaining body shape, health, and fitness performance. Did you know that developing lean muscle mass can lower body fat, burn more calories, increase your metabolism, develop power, speed, and sport success all with a by product of looking and feeling better throughout your life? As we age we lose muscle and developing it earlier and longer is the key to less work later on. Who wouldn’t want to develop some then! 

 

STRENGTH TRAINING involves lifting weight against resistance. At Body by Design Personal Fitness Training we utilize free weights, medicine balls, BOSU's, resistance bands, stability balls for the most part and some machines when more power strength is needed. Check out the article under “News” “Choosing between Free Weights and Machines”

 

Will I get huge muscles fast?

No. This is a myth that stalls many from lifting weights. It is true that some body types build faster than others. With targeted  customized programs we can ensure that you build the shape you want.

 

How long will it take to see a difference?

For most individuals obvious physical changes take 4-6  weeks. The good news is that performance changes may be sooner and once muscle is developed it has memory and works for you!
